Why did you become a signatory of the MotherBoard Charter and why does it matter to you?

We signed up to be a signatory of the MotherBoard Charter because it represents two core values of the iO Academy: equality and diversity.

Inequality in leadership positions and the gender pay gap are magnified in tech teams, which are traditionally male-dominated, so we seek to drive change by teaching women the skills they need to enter the industry and embark on successful careers as Developers.

We believe that, to create a more diverse and inclusive industry, you need to start as early on as possible. Initiatives such as our Diversitech Fund have allowed us to make our Full-Stack Track course (an intensive 16 week course teaching students everything they need to know to get their first job in coding) more accessible to women and other underrepresented groups.
