The MotherBoard Charter is a collection of business signatories who are proud to demonstrate their commitment to creating and advancing a more gender-balanced industry. 

The benefits of joining the MotherBoard Charter are plentiful. We produce ever-evolving toolkits, bi-monthly signatory roundtables that directly support your organisations strategy, through to supporting your employer brand and employee value proposition to help attract and retain more women to your business, amongst much, much more. 

Signing up to the Charter is a simple three stage process. We encourage participation from start ups, SMEs through to corporate brands.

Stage 1

Minimum Standards

Charter members demonstrate existing standards of commitment to advancing gender equality within the workplace. To start the process of becoming a signatory, we’d like to know more about your organisation and where you are on your journey. 

For each of our signatories, we require them to have implemented a minimum of three of the following:

  • Enhanced parental leave policies 

  • Pay gap analysis & commitment to equal pay 

  • Fair & transparent promotions policy 

  • Truly flexible working policies 

  • Return to work policy (after maternity, paternity or adoption leave) 

  • Reproductive health policy (periods, menopause, fertility) 

  • Flexible wellbeing benefits 

  • Family insurance policies 

  • Fertility related benefits 

  • Childcare support 

  • Ongoing DEI training 

  • Breastfeeding/well-being rooms 

  • Mentoring & upskilling programmes 

  • Talent acquisition DEI targets

Stage 2

Commitment, participation & advancement

Our bi-monthly online roundtable / power hours bring together Charter members to discuss and share the advancement of gender equality within the workplace, best practice, initiatives, policy advancements etc. We ask Charter signatories to have representation at a minimum of three meetings annually. 

Each Charter signatory commits to maintaining minimum Charter standards, with a working target of at least 5 areas implemented at their first anniversary.    

Stage 3

Accountability 

Signatories receive a 6 month check to ensure advancements are on track. We offer recommendations and additional support should it be required.

Business turnover < £2.5 Million
£500 + VAT annually 

Business turnover £2.5 - £10 Million
£750 + VAT annually 

Business turnover > £10 million
£1,000 + VAT annually 

The Charter is a non-profit making initiative. Our annual fees go straight back into the Charter to provide our signatories with ever-evolving toolkits, bi-monthly signatory roundtables, community newsletters, charter management and more. 

Signatories automatically re-subscribe annually to continue on the journey on the basis that the organisation is meeting its Charter obligations and commitments to meeting the standards of the Charter to improve Gender equality.
