With only 24% of people making up the UK tech workforce being women and 50% of women leaving the industry before 35, there is a clear, alarming, and known issue of gender equality in tech.

To gain and retain women, true allyship is essential, and part of that is creating awareness, understanding and compassion for the impact female* reproductive health can have on women's careers and experience at work.

During this event, as part of Bristol Technology Festival, we will discuss the realities of reproductive health at work, and how companies can be more inclusive and supportive.

This session is for all genders intended to equip and educate everyone, no matter what point they are at in their allyship journey. Real change requires a collective shift.

Expect a real-talk interactive introduction to female* reproductive health in the workplace, alongside a reality check. We'll be sharing some hard-hitting truths and stats around the lack of knowledge, lack of equity and gap between assumption and actual lived experience.

We will then get practical around "What it means to be an ally" and what leaders and peers can do practically to support much-needed change in the tech industry.

Potential discomfort intended. It'll be worth it.

About HeyFlow:

Understand your female* workforce better

Reproductive health doesn’t stop in the workplace, and neither should your policies.

31% of women experience severe reproductive health symptoms every year. If not supported properly they can have a massive impact in the workplace and become a hidden burden leading to a lack of inclusion, increased absenteeism, and reduced retention.

Through insight-driven surveying, confidence-building training, and policies written for real life and real people; we empower businesses to tackle those issues head-on by building a truly inclusive company and breaking the taboo from menstruation to menopause

*We actually mean people with internal reproductive health organs, it’s just not as catchy. You can read our full inclusion statement here
